Feeling Great in 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

fireworksTonight’s the night. All your goals and dreams for 2007 will be laid to rest and a new year will slap you in the face like a wet fish. I spent some time with the mrs. yesterday talking about our goals for the upcoming year. That’s always the easy part, isn’t it? Coming up with a list of super-optimistic accomplishments that you would like to see happen. I always get a chuckle when I see a fresh group of joggers around the neighborhood in January and February. Come March-December, this group always seems to slim down. (In numbers, not in pounds if you know what I mean.)

One of my (eternal) goals is be an organized individual. So if you’re like me and are sitting down to write a list of where you’d like to improve, then you may enjoy some of the following links to help you get your ducks in a row.

  • Lifehacker.com - This site provides an endless stream of tips, downloads, and links to help you become a more productive person. The topics are not just related to technology either.
  • 43Folders.com - Merlin Mann’s family of websites about stuff like personal productivity, life hacks, and simple ways to make your life a little better.
  • Google Reader - Stop going out to the web to find new information. Start using RSS and let the news come to you. It’ll save you a ton of wasted time.
  • Remember the Milk - Keep track of your To-Do list with ease. This web-based program is incredible.
  • del.icio.us - Keep track of websites you like. This is your “favorites” or “bookmarks” on steroids. Watch and learn.
  • MyPyramidTracker.gov - Wanna keep track of what you’re eating this year? This site can help. Create a private profile and track your daily calorie intake, analyze your nutrition status, and get tips on how to eat better.

Whatever your goals for the new year, I wish you the best. Hopefully Geek Stew will be a part of 2008 for you and your friends. Spread the word kids!
