When I moved Geek Stew to a standalone install of Wordpress, I also signed up for a Google Analytics account to track visitor stats. If you run a website that you’d like to analyze, you should really look into Google Analytics. They’ve done a ton of design/function upgrades over the past couple years. It’s got just about every tool you would ever need to scrutinize your site, and best of all it’s free. But I digress.
I logged into my account this afternoon to see if it was properly receiving data from the site. I thought I would share a little bit of what I observed. Through practically no advertising other than a link in my email signature, word of mouth, and leaving comments on various blogs, the Stew has managed to spill across the world. In the snazzy graphic below (created using the Google Chart API), check out all the countries that have been exposed to the meaty goodness of Geek Stew.
One of my goals for the upcoming semester is to begin advertising the site on and off the campus. If you’ve subscribed to the feed (I know you’re out there!) and would like to help spread the word, leave a comment. I’ve got some ideas that I would love to share.
Nothing like a little word-of-mouth.
